Submissions must not exceed 16 pages (excluding bibliography of maximum 2 pages). Short and tool papers should not exceed 8 pages. Submissions must not have been published or be under consideration for publication elsewhere. All submissions will be judged on the basis of originality, contribution to the field, technical and presentation quality, and relevance to the conference’s topics. All contributions to ICTAC 2023 have to be submitted electronically in PDF format via Easy Chair https://easychair.org/conferences/?conf=ictac20230 Papers must be formatted according to the guidelines for Springer LNCS papers (see http://www.springer.com/lncs) without modifications of margins and other space-saving measures. Authors should therefore consult Springer’s authors’ instructions and use their proceedings templates, either for LaTeX or for Word, for the preparation of their papers. Springer encourages authors to include their ORCIDs in their papers. List of CT conferences

Hi all, someone started a page on the nLab that listed the locations (and, where possible, websites etc) for the annual(-ish) CT conference. There are some gaps even as recently as the last 20 years, and the current oldest item is the 1989 Bangor CT. https://ncatlab.org/nlab/show/Category+Theory+conference In looking around, I suspect that in some years (before my time) the conference may have gone under a different name, or was combined in some way. For instance, was it ever held at MSRI? And, of course, it may not have been held in some years (2012?) If people can supply some info for 1993,1994,1996,1997,1998,2001,2002,2003,2005,2012, then at least we will have the last 30 years recorded. I think I know where to find some info about the 1980s (Bob Paré's list of conference talks! https://www.mscs.dal.ca/~pare/Conferences.html) but getting a full list would be good, inasmuch as that is possible. Perhaps there was a published list in a proceedings of the history at some point? Thanks. Dear Colleagues, Postdoctoral positions are available in my group to work on the project Topology of Quantum Resources, funded by the US Air Force Office of Scientific Research. This posting targets candidates with a background in algebraic topology or category theory, knowledge of quantum computing is not required but would be an asset. The main objects we are interested in are simplicial distributions; see https://arxiv.org/abs/2204.06648 for an accessible account. They are simplicial sets that model spaces of probability distributions and can be used to study Bell inequalities that appear in quantum theory. Second Announcement for Special Volume of TAC in honour of Pieter Hofstra

Last year, our dear friend and colleague Pieter Hofstra (1975-2022) passed away. Pieter obtained his PhD from Utrecht University, under Jaap van Oosten, studying realizability toposes. His research interests included general topos theory, realizability, inverse semigroups and groupoids, abstract computability, and homotopy type theory. Among his recent works, with J. Funk, he introduced the notion of isotropy groups of toposes, which he was actively developing with students and colleagues. While Pieter was a brilliant researcher, a kind teacher and a caring supervisor, we will most remember him as a friend. This is a second announcement from the guest editors (Richard Blute, Eugenia Cheng, Robin Cockett and Philip Scott) that the journal Theory and Applications of Categories, a journal for which Pieter was an editor, will dedicate a special volume in his honor. Authors are invited to submit their manuscripts in electronic form to one of the editors, listed below. All papers will be carefully refereed following the standards of "Theory and Applications of Categories". Prospective authors are requested to: 1. Copy the managing editor of TAC, Geoffrey Cruttwell (attac(a)mta.ca<mailto:attac@mta.ca>), when submitting an article. 2. As with ordinary TAC papers, for the final version, authors should follow the instructions on the TAC website and then send their final tex and pdf files to Geoff (again attac(a)mta.ca<mailto:attac@mta.ca>).
