It's too bad, because my message to Toby logically precedes my message to Dusko. Actually, since it will now be sent after the other one, perhaps I should re-write it so that it will be less repetitive. If you haven't sent it yet, that is.

Fair enough. The content of the message is still fine. I noticed that you preserved the Date on the messages, so they will have to be mentally reordered by the recipients. I noticed years ago that some people don't set the clock on their computers correctly, and I have missed incoming messages because the sender had their clock set, say, to 1980, which made the message go to the bottom of my mailbox. For this reason, I have configured ELM (yes) to sort my messaged by "date received" rather than "date sent". The only drawback of this system is that sometimes I read replies on the categories list before the messages they are replying to.
I generally hate it when people send multiple messages on the same subject on the same day, but somehow it made sense to break this into pieces.
I wouldn't worry - yours have content, but I do appreciate that you're sensitive to this. At times I just hold things for some hours, hoping to improve the brew by constricting the pipe :-)
I usually try to follow the philosophy of "say what you have to say, then shut up". But on the subject of dagger categories, there are very few experts, so I feel that all misinformation must be countered, or else (as I wrote in the now suppressed message) it will show up in referee's reports for years to come.
