higher dimensional algebra exposition
Tim Porter and I have been working on a paper called `The intuitions of higher dimensional algebra for the study of structured space' which may be downloaded from http://www.bangor.ac.uk/~mas010/paris-cogn8.ps.gz http://www.bangor.ac.uk/~mas010/paris-cogn8.pdf This develops a lecture given by Brown to the seminar Series `Géometrie et Cognition' of G. Longo et al at the ENS, Paris, in May, 2001, see http://www.di.ens.fr/~longo/geocogni.html The invitation came about via the concurrency connection with HDA (see GETCO). The talk, and similarly the article, was addressed to a general audience. The paper is submitted to Revue de Synthèse. The aim of the paper is to suggest wider links and hopefully look to the future; we would be interested in hearing of other general links of this type. Comments will be appreciated.
