Em-Cats 2023 -- talk preparation assistance for students speaking at CT2023
Dear categories list, CT2023 is fast approaching! As part of this year's Em-Cats program, Eugenia Cheng is generously offering talk preparation assistance to graduate students and early career researchers who will be giving talks at the upcoming CT2023 conference. For Eugenia's assistance, please apply by June 4 at the following link: https://topos.site/em-cats/. If you know someone who might be interested in this program, please also help let them know. The Emerging Researchers in Category Theory (Em-Cats) Program is led by Eugenia Cheng, and organized by Topos Institute. It began with a virtual seminar series of talks by graduate students in category theory in 2021-22. The aims of the program are, broadly: 1. Help the next generation of category theorists become wonderful speakers. 2. Make use of the virtual possibilities, and give opportunities to graduate students in places where there is not a category theory group or local seminar they can usefully speak in. 3. Give an opportunity to graduate students to have a global audience, especially giving more visibility to students from less famous/large groups. 4. Make a general opportunity for community among category theorists who are more isolated than those with local groups. 5. Make a series of truly intelligible talks, which we hope students and researchers around the world will enjoy and appreciate. Please note that this program is independent of the organisation of CT2023 and is not officially part of it. Again, for more information, including the application form, see: https://topos.site/em-cats/. With kind regards, Brendan [For admin and other information see: http://www.mta.ca/~cat-dist/ ]
