I agree that these checks are useless. Probably a botched copy-and-paste job. It should be:

AC_CHECK_LIB(nsl, gethostbyname) AC_CHECK_LIB(socket, connect)

That looks right, but I don't have a Solaris machine handy to check that. Zoltan, can you try that change, rerun autoreconf, and let us know how it works? -- - Charles Lepple
