I am very pleased to confirm that Steve Lack has accepted his appointment as Associate Professor in Mathematics, commencing in mid-July 2010.

Steve has a distinguished record in category theory that was most recently recognised in his award of the 2009 Australian Mathematical Society Medal.

We are fortunate that his appointment provides an excellent opportunity to strenghten our research capacity in category theory, and look forward to his contribution to the Department, to CoACT, and the wider University.
